Lai Khaen Project (2023)
An ongoing project on the khaen — observetion gathering recording its sound, makers, players, and cultural presence through film, photography, and archival work.
Part I (2023-2026)
The beginning of the project was a journey to get to know the Khaen. By going into the field, I observed and spent time with people whose lives are bound to this instrument—including Khaen masters, craftsmen, musicians, and scholars. The stories, memories, and relationships that grew along the way were gradually recorded and developed into two documentary works from the same journey. They share the relationship between people and the Khaen through various perspectives and contexts.
Lai Khaen: Bond (2026)
Documentary
An exploration of the inner resonance within individuals traced through the melodies of the Khaen. At the heart of this journey is Sombat Simla, a legendary blind Khaen master who serves as the pivotal link between people, memories, and human relationships.

Lai Khaen: Echoes of the Bond (2025)
Documentary series
Lai Khaen: Echoes of the Bond is a four-episode documentary series that follows and experiences the story of the "khaen" in various contexts. It explores the "bond" with the instrument through the perspectives of master khaen players, young artists, khaen makers, and scholars, all of whom have the "sound of the khaen" woven into their lives.
